      N-Sulfanylethylanilide (SEAlide)peptides, easily obtainable by Fmoc-based synthetic protocols, function as crypto-thioester in ligation chemistry. Reactivity of the SEAlide moiety can be tuned by the presence or absence of buffer salts. The interesting property of SEAlide peptides allows one-pot/multi-fragment ligation for protein synthesis to proceed efficiently.

      Alkyl-substituted tetracenes exhibit unique optical properties in the solid state, depending upon the length, shape, number, and substitution pattern of the alkyl side-chains. In the solid state, 1,4,7,10-tetraisopropyltetracene exhibited the highest reported fluorescence quantum yield of ΦF = 0.90.
