Abstract

Certified nurse-midwives have political responsibilities both to their profession and to the wider world. Nurse-midwives have a responsibility to continue their tradition of serving out-of-power peoples. Nurse-midwives have a responsibility to extend their care for mothers and babies to concern for stopping the pollution of the world, the abuses of multi-national corporations and nuclear war.
