ABSTRACT

A study of the results of four public opinion polls (n = 688) taken in the area of Lawrence, Massachusetts, reveals substantial support for nurse-midwive's attendance at home births However, public sentiments on the issue are not intense Examination of the attitudes of key subgroups reveals that support does not vary significantly by sex, education, age, or political ideology
