It's that time of year again. Hurricane season in the United States recently began and continues through November, according to the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The U.S. National Weather Service is forecasting an above-average hurricane season with 7 or more hurricanes, and FEMA is urging people to protect themselves financially from floodwaters and storm surges by purchasing flood insurance policies.
