David John Roddy, an astrogeologist and an internationally-recognized expert on impact cratering, died on 21 March 2002. His work on the processes and effects of impact cratering contributed greatly to the recognition of the importance of such phenomena in shaping the Earth, Moon, and other terrestrial planets. David Roddy had been a member of AGU (Planetary Sciences) since 1962.
