Improved geographic information needed for Sub-Saharan Africa, report notes



Geographic data can make a tremendous difference in understanding and managing natural resources in Africa, and U.S. assistance can help countries overcome enormous technological and financial hurdles in gaining and utilizing this data.

These are two of the main conclusions of a 26 July report prepared by the U.S. National Research Council (NRC) in advance of the World Summit on Sustainable Development in August and September in Johannesburg, South Africa.
