Abstract

On 7 September, the councils of the European Geophysical Society (EGS) and of the European Union of Geosciences (EUG) established a joint association, the European Geosciences Union (EGU). The new society will encompass the full spectrum of the geosciences, and of planetary and solar system sciences.
