Griffin nominated to head NASA

Abstract

U.S. President George W Bush nominated Michael Griffin as NASA administrator on 11 March. Griffin, who has expressed strong support for the Bush administration's Vision for Space Exploration, is head of the space department at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

Among his previous positions, Griffin was president and chief operating officer of In-Q-Tel, and chief engineer and associate administrator for exploration at NASA.
