Three oceanographic institutions are collaborating to conduct a global census of coral reef ecosystems in order to evaluate species abundances and their vulnerabilities to human stressors, the groups announced on 23 January

This project, called CReefs, is managed by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Australian Institute of Marine Science, and the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
