Authors

Abstract

Global climate change became a key topic of discussion Washington, D.C., in mid-January as the president, Congress, and business leaders proposed some solutions to the problem.

In his 23 January State of the Union address, President George W. Bush proposed reducing U.S. oil imports, particularly by reducing gasoline usage by 20% in 10 years and increasing the use of renewable and alternative fuels to 35 billion gallons by 2017.
