Atmospheric Halos and the Search for Angle x, by Walter Tape and Jarmo Moilanen, recently has been honored with two awards. In January 2007, Atmospheric Science Librarians International (ASLI) recognized the book as the 2006 ASLI Choice Award, Honorable Mention for an excellent illustrated update to a niche topic in the fields of meteorology, climatology, and atmospheric sciences. In February, the book received the 2006 Professional and Scholarly Publishers Award for Excellence, Honorable Mention Award in the geology and geography category. PSP is a division of the Association of American Publishers. The book, published by AGU in 2006, includes sections on how to observe and photograph halos, the early history of halo science, new explanations of how halos form, and a discussion of odd radius halos.
