The authors have tackled the challenging task of leading the reader from elementary geophysics to numerical climate impact studies in six easy lessons, complete with reference to three desk-top computer programs for geophysical fluid models that can be acquired at an affordable price. As a result, they have produced a quickly moving text that provides a far-ranging overview of a vast and rapidly advancing field in Earth system sciences.
