Abstract

“Protecting America's Wetlands: An Action Agenda,” a report by the National Wetlands Policy Forum, was released November 15 by New Jersey Governor Thomas H. Kean, chair of the Forum. The group has outlined recommendations to halt and hopefully to reverse the deterioration of our wetlands resources. The report is a start toward solving the nation's wetland problems.

Other members of the Forum included co-chairman Governor Carroll Campbell (S.Dak.), Governor Booth Gardner (Wash.), Conservation Foundation president William K. Reilly, National Wildlife Federation president Jay D. Hair, and ARCO senior vice president Willard T. Chamberlain. Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lee M. Thomas requested the year-long study by the Forum.
