We emphasize the importance of gravity anomalies in interpreting geophysical data, which has indicated a deviation from the Newtonian inverse square law. In particular, we point out that gravity anomalies, if not accounted for properly, mimic non-Newtonian behavior. On the other hand, omitting them provides a false signal contributing to the “fifth” or “sixth” forces discussed recently. Basically, we utilize the equations which govern gravity meaurements made inside the Earth to consider the effects of long- and intermediate-wavelength gravity anomalies.
