Abstract

Congressman Richard A. Gephardt (D-MO) came to AGU's spring meeting in Baltimore, Md., to talk about global warming and public policy. He stressed global unity to combat the problems of increasing temperatures. His remarks were part of the Union session Earth: A Changing Planet on May 10. Gephardt emphasized the U.S. need to cooperate with Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, and other countries where scientists are working to decrease emissions of greenhouse gases.
