Abstract

The International Association for Hydrological Sciences is sponsoring a symposium, Hydrology for the Water Management of Large River Basins, to be held August 12–14 in Vienna, Austria, within the framework of the 20th General Assembly of the IUGG. Flow regime changes related to large scale changes in land use, river development activities, and climate change will have a tremendous influence on the water management of large river basins. This symposium seeks to improve the understanding of various hydrological processes and to investigate the availability of tools and methods that can be used to analyze hydrological impacts.
