Workshop on precollege science education

Precollege science education is an issue with profound import for the future of our country. An effective program requires the active participation of the scientific community. Thirty-one scientists and engineers from 14 states representing a number of disciplines and institutions (government laboratories, industry, and universities) met on the Caltech campus March 7–13 for a working conference on this issue. The workshop was sponsored by the National Science Resources Center (NSRC) and hosted by Jerome Pine and Jim Bower of Caltech.
