Volatile elements in magmatic systems

Authors

Abstract

At four sessions on volatile elements in magmatic systems, held at the AGU 1992 Spring Meeting in Montreal, a diverse group of researchers discussed the various roles of volatiles in igneous systems, from the solution of volatiles into silicate crystals and melts to the quantitative modeling of volatile exsolution resulting in volcanic eruptions or formation of magmatic ore deposits. Each session concentrated on one or two topics and began with invited presentations by established experts.
