The following is the tentative 1993 schedule for Congress. This calendar can be used to plan visits to Washington to meet with members of Congress, or as a guide for scheduling events to which a member will be invited.
When the House is in session, members are typically in Washington from Tuesday morning to Thursday afternoon. Roll call votes are recorded, greatly reducing the probability that a Representative can attend a local function. These days are best for scheduling appointments in Washington. Appointments should be made at least 2 weeks in advance. During district work periods, representatives return to their district offices.
