Nominations are being sought for the American Association for the Advancement of Science's 1993 Philip Hague Abelson Prize. The prize is awarded annually to either a public servant, in recognition of sustained exceptional contributions to advancing science, or to a scientist whose career achas been distinguished both for scientific achievement and other notable services to the scientific community.
Established in 1985 by the AAAS Board of Directors, the award consists of a plaque and $2500. The 1993 award will be presented at AAAS's Annual Meeting, to be held in San Francisco, February 18–23, 1994. Each nomination must be seconded by at least two other AAAS members.
