Abstract

AGU's 1993 Front Range Branch Meeting was held at the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, in February. The 2-½-day meeting emphasized research relating to the Rocky Mountains, the Front Range, the High Plains, and other research done by geophysicists from this region. The meeting traditionally has a plenary format, with no concurrent sessions, which fosters interdisciplinary cooperation.

The speaker at the evening function was Richard Kerr, senior writer for Science. His talk, “Science and the Media Consider What Killed the Dinosaurs,” combined the ever-popular subject of dinosaurs with the ever-present concern of media representation.
