The Committee on Science, Space, and Technology passed H.R. 3870 on April 13, the Environmental Technologies Act, to promote the development and use of environmental technologies that will foster economic growth and environmental protection.

“We are moving ahead with legislation that proves you can do well while doing right and combine the goals of environmental sustainability and economic development. The bill signals a shift away from confrontations between government and industry over the environment, and a movement toward a partnership approach to environmental problems,” said Committee Chairman George E. Brown, Jr. (D-Calif.).
