MAGIC Elbe PC is a tool for the visualization, animation, and geographically aided retrieval of gridded data on IBM-compatible PCs. The version offered on the Internet is fed by the results of a three-dimensional, high-resolution baroclinic model of the Elbe estuary, Germany. The package is available to anyone with access to the Internet.

MAGIC Elbe PC, which was developed at the Institut für Meereskunde/Universität Hamburg, visualizes maps of tidally integrated data and animates full tidal cycles of vertically resolved and integrated current, salinity, and water level fields. It also allows the user to extract time series and cross-sectional data onto an ASCII file for individual use in a specific research topic simply by selecting a grid point with the mouse.
