Seven presentations were named Outstanding Student Papers at the 1994 Ocean Sciences Meeting, San Diego, Calif.

Tammi Richardson was honored for her presentation “Buoyancy Regulation and Vertical Movements of a Coastal Marine Diatom in a Laboratory Water Column.” Tammi is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Oceanography at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She holds a B.S. with honors in biology (1986) and an M.S. in invertebrate zoology and biochemistry (1988) from the University of New Brunswick, Canada.
