To keep on top of current issues and remedy existing problems, Hydrology Section President Steve Burges brought a full agenda to the Executive Committee Meeting held in San Francisco last December. The following highlights are offered to keep you informed about changes shaping the Hydrology Section. To communicate scientific results more effectively to the press at the fall and spring meetings, we need to educate the press well in advance of the meetings. To help achieve this end, a press officer was appointed for each AGU section. Our section stands to benefit particularly; the press is generally not well versed on water issues and there is less press interest in hydrology than in many other areas of geophysics. We are fortunate to have Harry Lins as the hydrology section press officer.
