Abstract

During its June 1 meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, members of the AGU Council adopted the 1995–1998 plan, which had been prepared and forwarded by the AGU Planning Committee. The plan included input from most of AGU's committees and had been the subject of extensive discussion by Council members at a Forum on May 29. The plan sets out a number of specific objectives to be achieved by June 30,1998. Throughout the plan, significant attention is given to use of new technology in improving current operations, in enhancing the speed of communications with the membership, and in developing new services for the geophysical sciences.
