Rowland received the Revelle Medal



The Roger Revelle Medal was given to F. Sherwood Rowland for the codiscovery of the threat posed by chlorofluorocarbons to the stratospheric ozone layer and to the preservation of the global ozone shield and protection of human welfare. The Revelle Medal was presented to Rowland at the AGU Spring Meeting Honor Ceremony on May 25, 1994 in Baltimore. The award citation is given here.
