Reevaluation of the Bedford-Berea Sequence in Ohio and Adjacent States: Forced Regression in a Foreland Basin

Rarely does a single publication result in the overturn of an established model, but this monograph does precisely that. Pashin and Ettensohn's reinterpretation of the classic Bedford-Berea sequence is fashioned from a thorough understanding of an Appalachian foreland basin. However, its demonstration of sedimentologic and bathymetric complexity will be a cautionary tale for the interpretation of foreland basins elsewhere.
