Abstract

The U.S. Geological Survey has released a shaded-relief image of the Alaskan terrain (Map I- 2585; scale 1:2,500,000, $4.00). An accompanying booklet explains the geologic basis of more than 100 terrain features that can be seen, including recently active faults— of which the Denali and Fairweather faults are particularly conspicuous—volcanoes, and glacial deposits.
