U.S. federal funding for developing the next generation of the Internet (NGI) would total $110 million for fiscal year 1999, the same amount the Clinton Administration has requested for its interagency Next Generation Internet initiative, under bipartisan legislation introduced in the House of Representatives on March 2.

The House bill calls for an additional $115 million for fiscal year 2000.
