A new daily streamflow conditions map for the United States is now available online from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The map depicts streamflow as a percentile of its longterm value for each day Located at http://water.usgs.gov/public/dwc/national_map.html, it is updated every 3 hours.
The flows are grouped into seven color-coded percentile categories. More than 2000 realtime stations from the USGS stream gaging network, each having at least 30 years of continuous records, are represented. Changes in daily streamflow over the past several weeks can be viewed in an animated sequence.
