The specimens of Cephalodiscus M'Intosh collected during Operation Deep Freeze (1956–1959) belong to five previously described species: C. nigrescens, C. solidus, C. densus, C. fumosus, and C. hodgsoni. The geographical ranges of three of these species are extended, and the bathymetric range of the genus is extended to 1554 meters. The variation of C. fumosus, recorded for the second time, is discussed.
