Summary

The CDROM included with this volume contains a selection of maps and images, remote-sensing data, aerial and ground photography, GIS-based simulation model output, tabular data and descriptive documents, all related to the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica. A Windows® PC running a Web browser such as Netscape™ Navigator is all that is required to display these materials. Optionally, three browser “helper” applications ESRI ArcView®, MS® Excel and MS® Word can provide full access to the underlying data items. All the basic cartographic materials on the CDROM are in the public domain, having been obtained from government sources, both United States and international. Several authors in the present AGU volume have kindly supplied original research materials to the CDROM, as noted in their contributions.
