Symposium on Tectonism ol the Pacific Northwest

During the Seventeenth Annual Meeting of the Pacific Northwest Region of the American Geophysical Union, which was held at the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington, on October 14–16, 1970, a panel discussion on Pacific Northwest Tectonism was convened. Many types of data were presented: heat-flow, gravity, magnetic, seismic, refraction, dredgehaul, petrology. Although most of the panel members agreed in general on sea-floor spreading and tectonism in western North America, there were questions and discussions on the details of data collection, hypothesis formulation, and conclusions.
