Construction has begun on the new U.S. Geological Survey national center in Reston, Virginia.

The Survey will be the first federal agency to locate at Reston. When the facility is completed early in 1974, it will be leased for the USGS from the developer, Gulf Reston, Inc., by the General Services Administration for 20 years to recover construction costs, and then turned over to the government.
