From the general objectives set forth in the article ‘Geodynamics Project—Development of a U.S. Program’ (May 1971, EOS), the U.S. Geodynamics Committee is focusing its attention on specific aspects of the program. Among the research activities that might be included in the program, the Committee identified several that would require coordinated planning. A corresponding series of temporary working groups is being asked to develop recommendations in these areas by the end of the year. The working groups and their chairmen are listed below. Suggestions from interested scientists are welcome; they should be sent to the relevant chairman (or to the U.S. Geodynamics Committee, National Academy of Sciences, 2101 Constitution Avenue N. W., Washington, D.C. 20418).
