The National Science Foundation has announced continuing support of a multifaceted research project aimed ultimately at a better scientific basis for use of land and water resources over a large part of the United States.
The foundation awarded nearly $2 million for a second full year of research under the program. The grant is administered by the Atomic Energy Commission's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) under an interagency agreement. Grant funds will be divided among research groups at ORNL, Oak Ridge, Tennessee; the Research Triangle Group (composed of Duke University, Durham, North Carolina; University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and North Carolina State University, Raleigh); University of Georgia, Athens; and the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
