Recently, the problems of planning and management of water resources have been emphasized, especially in regard to the growing concern for the quality of our environment. Although much data has been gathered and published about the occurrence, availability, and quality of our water resources, the data gathered and published on water usage has generally been restricted in scope to a single type of information, such as the distribution of water from municipal supply systems to the various classes of metered customers.
