Abstract

A symposium on Estimation of Storm Rainfall Patterns is being organized by the Precipitation Committee of the AGU Section of Hydrology. It will be held in conjunction with the Fall Annual Meeting in San Francisco, December 10–14, 1973.

Papers are invited in the following topic areas: modeling of storm rainfall patterns over both fixed geographical areas and over storm-centered areas, including orographic and convective type storms; effects of the variability of precipitation patterns on the planning, operation, and management of water resource systems; methods for determining the reliability of areal rainfall estimates, as a function of measurement technique, network design, geographical area, time interval, area size, and rainfall type.
