The National Research Council has announced the Research Associateship programs for 1974. These programs provide scientists and engineers with opportunities for postdoctoral research on problems in the fields of Chemistry, Space Sciences, Physics, Atmospheric and Earth Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, and Mathematics. The programs are conducted on behalf of and in cooperation with certain federal research organizations with laboratories at more than 80 geographic locations in the United States. Appointments are made on a competitive basis and are open to recent recipients of the doctorate and in some cases to senior investigators. Some are open to non-U.S. citizens also.
Approximately 250 awards will be made in 1974. Stipends (subject to income tax) will range from $13,000 upwards. Grants will be provided for family relocation and for professional travel during tenure. Applications must be postmarked by January 15, 1974. Awards will be announced in April.
