The Carnegie Institution of Washington and the International Union of Geological Sciences will sponsor an International Conference on the Geology and Geochemistry of the Oldest Precambrian Rocks from September 29 to October 4, 1974, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the problems of the geochemistry, petrogenesis, and structure of the oldest known rocks of the world. Two days will be devoted to field excursions to look at the old Precambrian of the Minnesota River valley. Strong emphasis will be placed on new data and current research.
