Abstract

The American Revolution Bicentennial Commission has approved the plans of the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago to present the principal bicentennial exhibition on the origin, development, and impact of American Science, engineering, and industry.

Opened in 1933, the Museum of Science and Industry was the first large American museum devoted entirely to explaining the laws of science and the applications of technology in industry and other fields. It continues to be the world's largest and most popular institution of its type.
