Geodynamics Project Notes: The U.S. Program

In the report of the U.S. Geodynamics Committee, U.S. Program for the Geodynamics Project: Scope and Objectives (Printing and Publishing Office, National Academy of Sciences, 2101 Constitution Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20418, 235 pp., 1973, $3.25), there were five basic recommendations, including ‘that there be a commitment of the government for U.S. participation in the Geodynamics Project’ and ‘that, in view of the fact that [at least twelve] federal agencies have activities relevant to some parts of the program, an appropriate focal point and mechanism be developed to coordinate the activities of the federal agencies, including their responses to the recommendations of the U.S. Geodynamics Committee.’
