Regional geophysics and tectonics: Penrose conference

  • Anonymous

The Geological Society of America has announced plans for a Conference on Regional Geophysics and Tectonics of the Intermountain West to be held September 7 to 12, 1975, in Alta, Utah.

The purpose of the meeting is to examine Cenozoic tectonics and interpretations of regional geophysical data of the intermountain west in light of the general theory of plate tectonics. Emphasis will be placed on the transition zone from the Basin and Range province to the Colorado Plateau and the middle Rocky Mountains provinces, the eastern Snake River plain, and Yellowstone National Park.
