Abstract

At the invitation of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, the International Geographical Union will hold its Twenty-Third International Geographical Congress and its Fourteenth General Assembly (devoted to union business) in July and August of 1976.

The meetings of the congress, for the most part, will be held at the Lomonosov State University of Moscow on Lenin Hills. The university campus is on the high bank of the Moscow River amid parks and sports grounds. Various means of transportation, including subway and busses, are available to downtown Moscow, and special busses will be at the disposal of attendees for trips from their hotels to the university and back. On the campus are a number of dining rooms, post offices, souvenir shops, and bookstalls.
