The Twenty-First Annual meeting of the Pacific Northwest Region was held October 17 and 18, 1974, at the Joint Center for Graduate Study in Richland, Washington. Almost 100 registrants participated in the meeting, at which 8 invited reviews and 39 contributed papers were presented.
The meeting was highlighted by a special session on Geophysical Aspects of Nuclear Power Production. The moderator, Richard F. Foster of Battelle-Northwest, introduced the topic. He gave a brief historical sketch of reactor development, defined the various types of power systems in use or planned, and indicated the probable growth pattern of power reactor development in the years ahead.
