A hydrodynamical-numerical (HN) Model workshop was held in the Environmental Prediction Research Facility (EPRF), Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, from December 2 through 7, 1974. The workshop was organized by T. Laevastu under sponsorship of the Office of Naval Research, with Walter Hansen, University of Hamburg, as chairman and convenor. Twenty-eight participants from the United States, Europe, and Canada attended the workshop, which owing to limited funds, was by invitation only. Participants were scientists who have had considerable experience in the development and application of HN models.
