Abstract

The Conference on Quantitative Magnetospheric Models was held in La Jolla Shores, California, May 6–8, 1975, under the sponsorship of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Office of Naval Research, McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company, and AGU.

The meeting was divided roughly into three parts, with one day devoted to each. Each day was then divided so that approximately two-thirds of the time was devoted to presentation of papers and one-third to discussions and working group activities. The first day was devoted to magnetic fields, the second to electric fields, and the third to charged particles. Many of the comments made concerning the magnetic field apply equally well to the electric field. This summary will roughly follow the order of the meeting.
