A workshop on various aspects of centrifugal methods of testing soil, rock, and other models will be held under the sponsorship of the National Science Foundation at California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California, on December 16 and 17, 1975.
Centrifugal soil and rock testing has been widely used to study geotechnical problems in Europe and the USSR but has found little use in the United States. The workshop is intended to inform participants about the method and the results which have been obtained in various studies. Sessions will be devoted to centrifuge construction, instrumentation, and test performance and analysis of various materials and configuration. Guest speakers will discuss their work.
