The Harry Oscar Wood Fund (administered by the Carnegie Institution of Washington), which supports personal research in the fields of seismology and associated physics of the earth, is accepting grant applications. Grants are customarily less than $10,000 and are made without regard to nationality of the applicant. Field studies are rated higher than laboratory studies.
Grant applications should be no more than 2 pages long and must indicate any similar proposals by the applicant which are being considered by, or which will be submitted in the near future to, other possible sponsors. Annual accounting is required along with a 1- or 2- page summary of the scientific results obtained. Use of funds 3 years from the date of the grant will be subject to a new review.
